Thanks To You,
it's ALL On The Table
Thank you for joining the conversation. We have been humbled by the response and pleased with the quality of the conversations you had. Here are some of the quick take-aways from the conversations.
Affordable Housing, Education, and Public Transportation (and the link between the lack of affordable housing and the absence of easy, low-cost public transportation) were the top topics discussed.
There were no statistically meaningful differences between participants of different ethnic or racial backgrounds and the issues discussed…we all want the same things.
There was a startling high percentage of people (89%) who committed to take action as a result of their conversations. Many (33%) made plans to meet again to discuss next steps.
Lowcountry On The Table got people thinking and taking action.
What Is On the Table?
On the Table was a region-wide event that took place on October 4th. Literally hundreds of small groups gathered together throughout the Tri-County area to discuss the challenges we face in our community. Thousands of voices were heard.
Why Did People Participate?
The act of people sharing the issues that matter most to them has never been more important. On the Table is designed to inspire collaborative action across the region by bringing people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds together. These conversations help to make our communities stronger, safer, and more dynamic. Plus, SPARK GRANTS were awarded to help implement some of the best ideas heard during On the Table.
Watch for monthly gatherings to continue the conversations and reflect on what has been discussed thus far. Our first meeting will be in February. You will be hearing more about this and other conversation starters in the months ahead.
Your voice mattered.
Thank you to the hundreds of people who took time away from their busy lives to create a future that inspires us all.
